30 Quid

Today I did my first 'big shop' since moving into my new flat. I didn't realise just how expensive food was!

This is what I got:

It cost me more than 30 bloody quid!!! A lot of the stuff is Tesco's own brand too and they tricked me into buying 3 pizzas - they led me to believe that they were on offer but they weren't. Robbing bastards.

I think i'm gonna have to start shopping in Lidl from now on. Sheesh.

Moving In, Moving On

I haven't given up blogging! I moved into my new flat on Sunday and won't have internet access until the 29th so i'll only be able to update my blog when I visit my mother's house. I will try to do at least a couple of blogs until then.

This year I didn't do very much although it was more than i've done over the past few years, which was absolutely nothing. I ended up wearing a half hearted bat costume (I only wore the mask for about 5 minutes and the 'costume' was just my normal clothes). I wanted to be a skeleton but I left it all too last minute, I didn't get to carve a pumpkin either due to the same reason and had to make do with a swede.
We got loads of trick or treaters though, despite getting absolutely none last year so we were somewhat unprepared. The sweets disappeared very quickly and we had to resort to giving money and Halloween gingerbread, which as a result I didn't get to have any of!
My mum's goddaughter and her sister came round to carve their pumpkins with us so it turned out to be an okay night.

30 Days of Journaling: Day 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30!

I haven't had chance to update my blog in so long because i'm moving house and everything has just been up in the air. I've just had to do my journal pages at my own pace, doing a bit of work on them here and there so it's taken a little longer than it should have done but it's all finished now!

I used silver glitter gel pan for the title and pencil for the rest of the lettering and the drawings. The recipes are inside the envelopes and I made the yum sticker for the top one as the top of the envelope didn't look good tucked in.

I used a brown Sharpie for the lettering and I cut the pictures out of an old Argos catalog. 

I painted the backround with 'antique' gold acrylic paint and the leaves with bronze. I had originally wanted to use a sycamore leaf but I had no time to go and find any so I had to use something from the garden instead. I sprayed the whole thing with Krylon glitter spray (the first time it's actually worked well!)

I used a heart shaped sponge dipped in pink and red acrylic paint to creat the background. I used gold acrylic paint for the lettering. The pictures are of my wonderful family. 

I just used a brown Sharpie for this one. 

...and an orange pencil for this one. 

I drew around my hand then painted it in with gold acrylic paint and bronze for the title. For the lettering inside I used a calligraphy pen.

I used soft pencils for the cloud and grey 'bits'. I used a brown Sharpie for the leaves, a black one for the spider web and the shadow people and black and orange for the pumpkins. I used gold and bronze acrylic paint for the fireworks.

I just used a silver gel pen. It doens't show up very well but at the bottom I added an extract of the poem November by Thomas Hood. 

Just bronze and a bit of gold acrylic paint for this one. Thanks so much Janel for running this fantastic journal class! 

And for the back 'cover' I just used the same combo. The other side of the page os mosaic, exactly the same as the front cover but without the label.
